A: What a gigantic tree that is ! What is it called ?
     那棵樹好巨大驚人! 它叫什麼名字?
B: This is gigant sequoia tree , known as the General Sherman Tree.
     這是句大的紅杉樹,通常稱做 "薛曼將軍樹" .

A: How old is it ?
     它幾歲？
B: Well ,we don't know exactly how old this tree is , but it's about 2,200 to 2,400 years old.
     我們不知道這棵樹的確實樹齡. 大概2,200到2,400歲左右.

A:  Is that right ? It's incredible . I wonder if the sequoia tree is the same as the coast redwood tree.
     是嗎? 真是不可思議,不知道紅杉是不是和沿海紅杉一樣 .
B:  Well , they're not the same. In fact , they're quite different.
      它們不一樣.事實上它們差異很大.

A:  How different are they ?
      它們差異有多大?
B:  Well, this tree is much bigger around than the coast redwood. The coast redwood is a taller tree but does not have as much wood or volume.
      這種樹的四周比沿海的紅杉寬大.沿海的紅杉比較高大. 但沒有這麼多的木材和這麼大的體積.

A:  Hmm, I see. Thank you very much for your information .

B:  You're welcome.

B:  Well , this is 800,000 acres , that combines Sequoia Park and Kings Canyon National Park.

B: It's a really huge park.
     它真的是座巨大的公園.

A:  Are there any bears around?
      附近有熊嗎?
B:  Of course , we have some bears. We don't know exactly how many. We also have bobcats , mountain lion , gray fox and many other animals.
      當然有,這裡有一些熊,我們不知道確實有多少. 此外,我們有一些山貓,山獅,銀狐以及其他很多的動物.

A:  Hmm , they must scare hikers.
      牠們一定下壞了遠足的人.
B:  Occasionally they do , but they're really harmless animals.

A:  How about fishing ? Is it all right to fish in national parks?
      釣魚呢? 國家公園裡可以釣魚嗎?
B:  Oh, of course, it's fine. You can fish in national parks, but you should have a license.
      當然可以, 沒有問題. 國家公園裡可以釣魚但是必須有執照.

A: Next time I come , I'm going to bring my license and my fishing gear.
     下次我來,我要把我的執照和釣魚用具帶來.
